Yesterday was the official two week mark until the big surgery. After knowing for years that I am to have this surgery, I can't believe it's finally here, or right around the corner. I am extremely excited, and a little nervous. I feel like I have so much to do before the surgery. I still have yet to move out of my house at school and move back home, where the surgery will be and where I will spend most of my time recovering. I have one more week here at school, and with this being my last weekend I feel like I have a lot of friends to see before I leave for good (This fall I am beginning graduate school in the Chicago area). On top of moving out, I have many pre-op appointments. I have a history and physical with my family doc, a blood draw at the hospital where the surgery will be, an appointment with my orthodontist to put on "surgical hooks" on my braces so that the oral surgeon can wire my mouth shut, and I will have one more (a 4th) appointment with my oral surgeon. I am also planning on going to a concert for a weekend with a good friend of mine the weekend before the surgery. I am seeing my favorite band perform for two nights at a great venue so I am looking VERY forward to this. I figured that be a great way to spend my last weekend of my summer before the surgery.
